F21 SCARF

Hi friends! I've got a quick outfit for you today that I wore last week when it wasn't yet freeeezing! The scarf is new, yes, I got in in F21 while shopping for bits and bobs for my winter wardrobe, which I'm starting, drumroll please, in less than two weeks' time! And I'm still looking for a winter coat! Can't decide between a classic button up or something a bit more... unexpected. Or both? Decisions, decisions.

I have one more outfit to share with you before I start posting about the winter capsule. Have you noticed the festively-coloured header? But meanwhile, let's talk about black and brown pairing. Some consider it a fashion faux-pas, but hey, we don't care about that. Black and blue used to be frowned upon too and look at them now. For what it's worth, I like black and brown together. I mean, I have brown hair. I wear black. It's a match made in heaven.

Also, I can't believe I've not worn this stripy t-shirt on the blog before. It's one of my favourites and I honestly wear it all.the.time at home. So alas, here it is. And it's going straight into the winter capsule for sure. {That's a sneak peek.}

Anyway, because I can't get over this coat problem I have, I need you guys to help me out here. What coat styles are you favourite? Which ones will you be sporting this winter? I want your inspiration!

  1. Love that jacket of yours and I definitely think that cognac and black are a great pairing! I don't know how cold it gets there, but I always opt for a few winter coat options just because here it's basically all people see of your outfit from Dec-March. For the record though, my most worn coat is grey and double-breasted, fairly traditional - then my favorite coat is leopard print, but it doesn't get worn as often! I'd say it's nice to have both options if you can!

  2. I love those boots of yours so much! I totally went to TK Maxx to see if I could find a pair, but alas, no such luck. :) I just switched into my "real" winter coat yesterday. It's a knee-length, puffy down coat, and while it won't win me any fashion awards, it feels so amazing, like wearing a duvet!

  3. Yay! A sale! Thanks for the heads up!

    Haha! Yes! I look like a giant sausage in my coat, but I'm a warm giant sausage! :)

  4. Quick question: Do you think your boots are the "tan" option on the Hush Puppies website? Yours have that rich reddish cognac tone, and the picture on their website looks like more of a flat tan. Thank you!

  5. Yes, I definitely have the "tan" version - the pictures on the site don't really do it justice. I bought a shoe wax and polished them before I wore them because there was a bit of a fault in the polish on one of the boots {I think that's why they ended up in TK Maxx}.
    One tip, don't make the mistake of getting medium tan shoe wax - it's too dark. Light tan wax is the perfect colour for these, trust me, I learnt the hard way :-)
    Oh and, in case you've not noticed, the tan version is the only one that has a textile insert on the outside of the shoe - you can see it when you hover over the image and it zooms in. All the other colours have leather insert. It doesn't make much of a difference, it's still waterproof, but I kind of wish the tan boots had the beautiful pattern leather insert like the dark browns!
    Let me know how you find them if you get them! :)

  6. That's what I was thinking - Dec to March is definitely coat weather here so I would like to have options, it's just that coats are so damn pricey! I have my sporty girl black coat and kind of want a shearling jacket plus a big wrap coat. Or something like your double breasted number - because, like you said, it's always the most traditional pieces that get the most wear. Might have to ask for one for Christmas!

  7. Oh that's a shame! Whenever I find gorgeous shoes in TK, they're usually size 3 or 4, so I think I just got really lucky with these. Don't know if that'd be of interest to you, but they have them on sale on the hushpuppies website - linked below the last picture - down from £85 to £68. It's still a bit more than I paid for them but not that unreasonable! They're true to size, if you do decide to get a pair, I'm UK6 or EUR39 and these fit great. I love the dark brown pair too! You could even trick someone into getting them as a Christmas present for you :-)
    You know, I've tried a couple puffy down coats last year and they totally made me look like a giant sausage so I steer clear from them. Pretty sure they will be back in fashion in a few years time though ;-)

  8. Thank you for all of your help!! I agree, the tan should come with that embossed leather insert. :) Good to know about the shoe wax! Thanks again!

  10. They're pretty good quality for the price too! Love how soft they feel :-).
