3x4 RECREATING AN OUTFIT FROM PINTEREST
I always go to Pinterest to look for inspiration on styling various pieces - when I'm stuck in a rut and need new ideas, or when I'm considering purchasing a piece for a new capsule wardrobe. It helps me see how I can wear it and ultimately, it helps me decide whether that particular piece will fit my existing wardrobe. So it's kind of surprising that I've never yet recreated a pinterest outfit. Not until now. (Pause for drama.)
This is the pin. I liked the double denim and the chunky knit belted at the waist. The post-winter colours in the photo really appealed to me too. It's from Mango's lookbook, as is this sweater - yes I have the exact one. I discovered it when I was looking for open cardigans and this one was on final sale. It's really warm and sometimes I think it looks a little like a knit camel coat. Seriously, if you saw it from the back, you might not think it's a sweater.
I don't have a chambray shirt in my possession but what I do have is this cute floral shirt. Oh yes, I almost forgot, you may have noticed that this shirt isn't in my big spring capsule wardrobe post. I only added it a few weeks ago. It was a gift and I think it's really great. Feminine but not too romantic, can be dressed up and down, blue...well you just can't go wrong.
Have you ever re-created a pinterest, or even a magazine outfit before? I think it's a fun way to find different ways for wearing your old items + it forces you to be creative! Especially with a capsule wardrobe, it's a full on creativity exercise. And I can only recommend it.
Have a great weekend, guys!
