Happy November! We've had a good, busy weekend full of cooking, cleaning, eating and relaxing. The weather is gorgeous too - sunny and hardly and clouds. But my gosh is it cold. We got the prettiest hot water bottle and it's now sitting next to me as I write this. So ladies and gentlemen, go and get your hats and gloves and...well...wear them. A lot. Because this winter is meant to be a particularly cold one - at least here in the UK.

Growing up in Slovakia, where when it's cold = really freaking freezing cold, meant hats were inevitably part of my wardrobe since day one. This one was made by my mum who has a little online shop, kind of like etsy, and you can even see me "modelling" a couple of the products.

There's one thing I've learnt from this outfit: never again wear these shoes with this skirt. I think you'll agree.
I'm posting the look up for you to see anyway, because the capsule journey isn't always blue skies and butterflies. There's bound to be a few bumps along the way. This is my bump. We try and fail and {hopefully} learn. I know I will!

I'll be talking about more things I've learnt later this week. Especially about shoes. How exciting! (not really).
Tell me about your bumps, had any yet?
Have a good Monday!

  1. I didn't plan for the very unexpected warm spell we had this October in Wyoming. (Last year it was cold and snowy!) Therefore I was forced to pull a few items from my warm-weather clothing stash to dress comfortably and avoid being miserably hot.

  2. Oh, I wish we had a warm spell here! Though I guess it hasn't been very cold {till now} - but it also wasn't warm enough to dig out summer clothes from under the bed. {Other UK bloggers may disagree, but I refuse not to wear tights in October. Outrageous!}
    You seem to have dealt with your "bump" quite well there - and it might have been nice to get a little break from autumn clothes for a few days too :-)

  3. This is a really cute look!! And honestly, I wouldn't have even thought twice about the shoes if you hadn't pointed them out, but I do love that you're willing to show us what you would do differently. Also, it's nice to follow along with someone who is doing a capsule wardrobe in a colder climate. I have a feeling once the real cold weather gets here, that's when it will truly get challenging!

  4. Thanks, Melina! {by the way, I love your name} You're right, it will get challenging only when it gets super cold. I fear that it will mean having the same 3 coats on rotation. I'm definitely planning for loads more sweaters for my winter wardrobe, but can't afford to have that many coats. I'll probably have to do some: this is what I'm wearing under my coat - kind of outfit pictures.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a few words. It always makes my day!
