Black maxi skirt! I had this idea in my head of a black maxi that flows when you walk, I think I must have seen a pitcure on pinterest. And let me tell you flowy maxi skirts are not that easy to find - especially if you don't want them to make your hips appear wider than they are. Which I'm guessing you don't.

I stumbled upon this one in my local C&A and in super sale for a £2.50. Woohoo! But it wasn't all blue skies - this skirt the last piece and size XL - so I had to take it in. I think I did a good job, because even if you examine it closely, you can't tell.

Anyway, what I want to say is - this is not a skirt that will last me for years and years to come - I'm expecting three years at the most, but I will have fun wearing it. It's okay to buy something even if it doesn't fit you 100%, if you actually alter it so that it does. If it was size XL and cost £20, I wouldn't have bought it. For a £20 I could find a skirt I'm happy with as it is. But for £2.50 - well, I couldn't really argue.

I will be wearing it with thick tights and a chunky jumper when it's real cold. Which is now. It's time to turn the heating on already!

  1. Love the color combos here, so perfect for fall! Also, I am so envious of that scarf! Great job on the alterations - I can't believe how cheap that skirt was. Nice find!
