10 x 10: TEN PIECES & TEN OUTFITS LOOK 1

Ten pieces Ten outfits Ten pieces Ten outfits

Hey guys! The first 10 x 10 look is here. I had my skirt altered last week and I am so excited to finally wear it in its full, shorter glory. If you want to see what the skirt used to look like, here's an outfit I wore some weeks ago, pre-alteration.

I'm starting off with an outfit I was really excited to wear. I don't know if I can translate that excitement, it's like this anticipation of the new me, because new wardrobe = new identity, right? But every time I swap out seasonal wardrobes, there is a look I'm just dying to put on and dance through the streets.

What I'm trying to say is that the first outfit of every capsule (or mini capsule) is always the one I want to wear the most. And there's something about the first set of pictures too - they feel to me like a breath of fresh air.

Do you ever feel the same? New season, new me?

  1. It's such a lovely feeling too, the precious time of reinventing yourself :)
And yes, alterations are a great great way to personalise your wardrobe to your style! Unfortunately I had to have the skirt shortened in the shop, even if I could have probably done it myself...but I don't have a sewing machine here! I was originally waiting to go home and use my mum's machine but it'd have been some time before that was going to happen so I just took the plunge and found a local tailor's. But if you have a sewing machine, shortening sleeves sounds like a fairly simple diy! I actually shortened the sleeves of my linen top some weeks ago - it had short sleeves already but I didn't like the length so I rolled them up and sort of cross stitched them there. It's so much more wearable now. Did you decide to get the long sleeved version and shorten it in the end? Or did you manage to find what you were looking for?

  3. I'm in complete agreement about the new outfit/new season/new me thing! :)

Your skirt alteration was a genius idea! I really like the new length you've made it! Yesterday I was grumpy because I could only find long-sleeved linen shirts in the store, and I wanted short sleeves. I got to thinking... maybe I could shorten the arms! Alterations open up a whole new world of possibilities!
