3x10 WEEKEND AWAY: CAMBRIDGE

Happy Saturday! As promised yesterday, I'm showing you my first outfit from my weekend away. We took a trip to Cambridge for Giorgio's birthday, to walk around, get some birthday chocolates, the usual thing :) I had a carrot and ginger juice...which turned out to be a huge mistake. More ginger than carrot and really not the flavour I expected. I wish they had apple and carrot - my long time favourite.

I only took a few items of clothing with me, you can see my whole packing list in Friday's post, with the intention of creating enough different outfits to last me through for different occasions. Because it was still only a few degrees above zero and windy (my hair is doing its own thing), I layered my silk shirt under the dress. It looks quite fancy, but this outfit is one of the most comfortable things, I tell you.

It's not a typical combination for me, I'd not normally think to layer a shirt under a dress (have you ever tried?) but because I only had so many pieces I had to be creative. And the result pleased me a lot! This is actually one of my top favourite outfits of this capsule so far. Only goes to show how much you can do with so little.

I was going to snap a few pictures of Cambridge for you, but we went on what looked like the busiest Saturday of the year and there were crowds of people everywhere and traffic jams up and down the street. Or is it like that every weekend? Any Cantabrigians to verify?

You have any plans for this weekend? The Saturday here sucks, but Giorgio's making me a belated birthday cake - pecan and ginger with butterscotch sauce - so at least there's something to look forward to. Another look on Monday!
